Dear Jack,
I would like to invite your students and any faculty that
might have an interest to an Industrial Metal Supply Educator’s Open house we
are having on Nov, 15th.
The student and faculty Open Hose is anytime between 3:00 and 6:00. It would
normally take between 30 and 45 minutes.
We will have food and will be giving out free t-shirts to all in attendance.
An added bonus, we are hosting the San Diego Chapter of the National Tooling and
Machining Association’s for a light dinner later in the afternoon that day at
5:30.
You are invited to attend that meeting as well as I know that they fully support
machine tool technology in the local schools.
I only ask that you contact me with an approximate number of students and
faculty so that we can have enough food and t-shirts.
Thanks, Marty Mechsner

Hello Everyone,
I just received an email from our counselor Patsy Maes that
she was off duty from April25 – August 20th, the good news is that
she is back.
E-mail her for the fastest response:
Students include CSID #
I am providing a list of the classes that we recommend for our first semester
students, those of you who are already here should talk to your instructor for
recommendations.
As you all know the state budget is in very bad shape once again and the school
will be looking at classes with low
student numbers to close, to save money.
It is very important that you sign up and pay for your classes as soon as
possible. When you sign up for a class you only
have 3 working days to pay for the class, or you will be removed from the
roster, and replaced by someone who is on the
wait list. If you try to sign up for a class and the class is filled, put you
name on the wait list, if the wait list is filled
then show up for the first class and try to get an add code.
DO NOT wait until the first day of class to sign up for class, if you do you may
find that the class has been closed
because of low enrolment, or you may not be able to get an add code because the
class is full.
Another development is the possibility that the school may not allow us to add
students into classes on the first days of
class. Last semester we had to turn away students from the Machine Technology
Program because classes were filled
as of the first day of class.
Here is our recommended class schedule for
the First Semester Students in the Machine Technology Program, if you cannot
take all the classes we recommend at one time then take as many as possible.

Hello Everyone,
Grades:
I hope you are going to enjoy your time off. Some of you have contacted me on how
to find out what your final grade is for the classes you have completed.
You will have to log into your
E-Grades account to see your final grade. It will take the school some
time before this process is completed.
Certificate Information:
To receive your certificate(s) you need to go to Evaluations in room A-109 to apply. This cannot be completed until after the student has successfully completed the required courses, and has received a "C" or above for a final grade in each class. You have to request the certificates/degree, this is not automatically sent to you.
Check your grades on Reg-E to insure that they have been processed by the school. The instructor is not involved in the issuing of certificates or the degree beyond the requirement of submitting final grades.
The Evaluations Office telephone number is: (619) 388-3466.
Lockers:
Please make sure to take all you things and clean out your
lockers for the winter break. Make sure to take your locks with you also.
We are looking for a tutor for the Machine Technology day Program, we are also
looking for an hourly Teaching Assistant for the evening program.
If you are interested please email me, or talk to me in class.
08/24/2011:
Here is the web site that will allow you to get a password for
the city college Wifi, all you need is your student ID #
